Why Matte Vinyl Wraps Are the #1 Finish

Matte vinyl wraps are the single most-requested finish in our Oklahoma City shop. Matte black, matte dark grey, matte midnight blue, matte gunmetal. The flat, non-reflective surface delivers a tactical, aggressive aesthetic that paint physically can't replicate (paint can be matte, but matte clear coat is fragile and expensive). A premium cast matte vinyl wrap delivers the look at a fraction of the cost, fully reversible, and protects the OEM paint underneath.

Matte Wrap Pricing in OKC

Matte vinyl wraps are priced identically to other solid-finish color changes. Premium matte finishes (matte color-shift, matte metallic) add a small premium. Most matte vinyl wraps complete in 1–3 business days at our climate-controlled Edmond studio.

Matte Vinyl Maintenance: What You Need to Know

Matte wraps require slightly different care than gloss or satin. The textured matte surface holds more dirt and is harder to spot-clean than glossy surfaces. Do not wax a matte wrap. Wax fills the matte texture and creates shiny patches that ruin the finish. Hand-wash only with pH-neutral matte-specific soap, dry with a microfiber drying towel, and avoid touchless car washes with abrasive blowers. Most customers report matte wraps take 10–20% more time to maintain than gloss or satin equivalents.

Most Popular Matte Finishes

  • Matte black (3M 1080-M12): Our most-installed film. Pure flat black. Aggressive, tactical, OEM+.
  • Matte dark grey (Avery SW900-194-M): Subtle, premium, less stark than matte black. Popular on Tesla, BMW, Audi.
  • Matte midnight blue (3M 1080-M217): Deep navy with a soft matte texture. Popular on performance sedans.
  • Matte military green (Avery SW900-783-M): Olive drab, tactical, popular on Wranglers, Broncos, off-road builds.
  • Matte white (3M 1080-M10): Bright, clean, modern. Popular as a contrast color on accent panels.
  • Matte gunmetal (3M 1080-M211): Industrial grey with metallic flecks. Premium pricing.

FAQ

Matte Vinyl Wraps FAQ

How much is a matte vinyl wrap?add

Matte vinyl wraps in OKC start at $2,000 for compact sedans and run to $5,000 for full-size trucks. Premium matte finishes like matte color-shift add $800–$1,500.

How do I clean a matte wrap?add

Hand-wash with pH-neutral matte-specific soap, dry with microfiber towel, never wax a matte wrap (wax shines the matte texture). Avoid touchless car washes with abrasive blowers.

Does a matte wrap scratch easily?add

Matte vinyl resists light abrasion but is more visible when scratched than gloss because there's no reflective surface to hide minor marks. Park in shade, avoid car washes.

How long does a matte wrap last?add

Cast matte vinyl is rated 5–7 years in Oklahoma's climate. We've removed matte wraps after 6 years that looked nearly new at removal.

Can I get a matte color other than black?add

Yes. Matte is a finish, not a color. Matte black, matte grey, matte white, matte navy, matte military green, matte burgundy. We have 50+ matte options in stock.
